Our good friend Jesse Flores from Super Web Pros is back, the Chief Web Pro himself. Good to see you.

Jesse:

 That’s what they call me anyway, it’s good to be back here again, guys.

Bob: 

So what are some of the reasons people’s landing pages don’t generate leads?

Jesse:

 Yeah, you know, there, there’s a lot of different reasons and maybe we’ll pop some up here in a little bit here, but, there’s a couple things that I think are, are really, really helpful. One is you’ve got to match your headlines to your ad copy. It’s amazing. A little bit of friction on the web goes a long way. And it’s so easy for people to bounce off of a page if they get a little bit confused. You know, one thing I don’t see often is large clear calls to action. It’s almost like a, people don’t want you to fill out their forms or buy their things. You know, you gotta be bold, you gotta ask for things. And that, that’s true in sales. It’s true. It’s true in the web as well. But one of the other things that I think typically can help is if you offer things on your pages, uh, offer incentives or free lead magnets, um, those, those really help people to convert as well.

Mary: 

Okay. So you said the word lead magnet. What is a lead magnet?

Jesse: 

Yeah, that’s a great question. So, um, if you’ve ever a, if you’ve ever been on a website or a webpage before and you know, you see this, uh, maybe with some sort of Hoity toity kinds of companies, right? There’s like a white paper or something or like a brochure that they want you to download. Something of value that, that tells a prospect or a visitor on your website like, hey, here’s something really interesting, really important that solves a problem. You know, one of the things I find is interesting is that so many people are possessive of their best contents. Like they don’t want to give away their secrets. The reality is, is that more often than not, if you show somebody how hard it is to do what it is that you do, they’re going to hire you because they don’t want to do it themselves. And you know, and lead magnets are a great way to do that, to give away something of great value in exchange for some contact information.

Mary: 

That makes sense.

Bob: 

So it’s a process though, and it’s a manual process. So how do you do that effectively while at the same time running your business?

Jesse: 

Yeah. You know, I think one of the things that I, that I’m often surprised about when I talk to different business owners and different customers is, uh, you know, in my universe, we all know about marketing automation, uh, you know, whether it’s, it’s, it’s email or whether it’s testing ads or whatever it is. But a lot of people, they sort of shy away from wanting to do some of these things cause they don’t know about these kinds of technologies. And frankly, the learning curve can be kind of high, which is why I suggest people call someone like us. You know, we handle that kind of stuff out of the out of the box. But there’s so much that you can do with automated software now that really, that really can help accelerate this process.
